New Takeaway Opens in Crynant Forest!
New Crynant Takeaway Opens in Crynant Forest!
Sorry, not for you – it’s for the birds!
We have just installed a bird feeding station just past Badger’s Gate so we can help our feathered friends through the winter.
We are grateful to have received two sacks of wild bird food from Zoar’s Stores to start us off. Thank you, Martin & Chris!
The food is kept in a lockable storage bin at the site, but we do need volunteers to pop up and put the food onto the bird table and in the surrounding feeders. If you could spare one visit a week, then we could have a little rota of bird carers, and we and the birds would be very grateful.
If you can spare the time, please ask for Suzanne Waldron on 01639 750082 to agree a day and get the code for the food bin.
This project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.

Crynant Community Forest News
April 2021
We’ve had a couple of requests to have somewhere that people can tie their horses when they have trekked up to our lovely Moongazer Hare. So this is our effort – it’s in shade in the mornings and there are some bits of vegetation they can nibble. Also in response to frequent requests, we have included the Moongazer on our latest signpost.
We hope it’s ok.
Today’s final effort was to put an information panel
in at the bench above Pen Llwynllanc. It shows the mushrooms and toadstools which are found in our Forest.
Thanks as always to our dedicated volunteers as the ground was very rocky and frustrating when it came to hole digging!
